Nervous Conditions was a good book. I think that it should be part of the 9th grade syllabus because it is not an easy book to read. I think it is challenging for Freshman. It helps the reader fully understand what a book consist of. If they do the same thing that we are doing with the C layer, B layer, and A layer projects. I think it would help them do what they fell comfortable with and that it could help them understand the book better than just everybody do annotations and reading guides.
The book to me was a little complicated to read but I liked it because I have never read a book that hard so it was a challenge for me. It probably will help me for next year and coming years readings, and it will help the upcoming 9th graders learn more about some techniques that will help them in there reading skills.
One thing that I didn't like about the book was that most of the time it got a little boring and when I was reading I tended to fall asleep at some points. I don't know about anybody else but that was just my option. That could be a bad factor for it being in the syllabus because the some of the upcoming ninth graders will find it boring an meaningless and not put in the time to read and do the annotations, reading guides, or the character charts. But I know that some people like me will find it challenging and accept the challenge.
Overall, I do think that this book should be in the syllabus because it is challenging and it will prepare them for other novels that come along.
Good defence of this book. And i agree it was hard to read.
