Tambu in chapter seven is not what I expected. I expected her to feel homesick and want to go home to be her normal self again. But no that is not what happened. She begins to like school and make new friends, meet new people. During the Christmas holidays Tambu, Chido, and Nyasha went back home and Tambu was excited to be home so she could take care of her mother and see old relatives. She said she really missed her friends back at school. Then when she said that something popped into my head. Back a few chapters before Tambu's brother died, he came back home from school and he didn't really care about seeing his relatives and he wasn't excited. Tambu, in a way, was just like her brother but she was a little excited but not like I thought she would be.
New environments can certainly change someone. For example, when I came to Episcopal in August, I was extremely nervous. I barley new anybody, it was a lot bigger campus than I was use to, I didn't know what it would be like and I didn't know how to act. My head was telling me to be somebody that sticks out, but my heart was telling me to be myself. Thankfully I listened to my heart and now I have great friends, most of the teachers like me, and I am having fun.
