Reading Focus

My reading focus on the Lord of the Flies is social setting. There are some good key points in the story that show that the social setting of the book is going from good to bad. At the beginning of the book all the boys got along accept for Ralph and Jack. They both hate each other. The only thing Jack wants is power over everybody. Ralph is the kind of kid to take charge be a leader and that is exactly what Ralph does.
Over the months Jack is becoming more abscess with power. He is making up his own tribe and sort of dethrones Ralph. Jack has gotten pretty much the entire group of boys to be in his tribe except for Ralph, Piggy, Sam, and Eric. Jack is the kind of leader that most kids would want because they want to have fun and be wild, and on the other hand Ralph is the kind of leader that adults would want because he makes things civil, he cares for others, and sets things straight.
